In 2023, I was honored to receive the Voya Unsung Hero Award to help fund our “Semester in Space” project: an interdisciplinary K–12 learning experience that brought space exploration to life across all grade levels. The award supported innovative, hands-on learning opportunities for students, including building a satellite tracking antenna and engaging directly with astronauts aboard the International Space Station.
