In 2025, Canterbury School’s Science Department, led by Department Head Christiana Deeter, partnered with Hitachi’s Hi-Tech Science Outreach Program to bring a TM4000 Plus Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) to campus, opening an entirely new window into the microscopic world. From studying ocean acidification and antibiotic resistance to investigating gecko adhesion and forensic fibers, students across grade levels explored real-world science through a powerful new lens. This initiative not only deepened their understanding of climate change, biology, and materials science but also connected Canterbury to a global network of innovation and discovery.
